OKAMA TUNI ATABEIRA: Listen To The Spirit of Mother Earth

In
the name of the Great Kasikes of the Caribbean that went before me, Hatuey,
Agueybana II, Huareo, Anacaona, the Leaders of our Lucayan relatives that were
the first to receive the lost travellers.
The world calls on the wisdom
of the Ancestors. Mankind through greed
has drifted far from the lips of Atabeira (Mother Earth) and requires a return
to centre.
The description Columbus gave of the original people of the Caribbean was noted
in his journal -
“They traded
with us and gave us everything they had, with good will…they took great delight
in pleasing us…They are very gentle and without knowledge of what is evil; nor
do they murder or steal…Your highness may believe that in all the world there
can be no better people…They love their neighbours as themselves, and they have
the sweetest talk in the world, and are gentle and always laughing “
Of
the things taken from our people, the most preciou was our connection to our
culture. We learnt the colonizers knowledge of evil and the time has come to
end that cycle.
May
we return to our Ancestral ways and establish the harmony with Atabeira (Mother
Earth) that flows within our blood. May we lead by example for the
generations to come. May we centre ourselves in Waniki (Our Heart).
To
the world leaders, it is time to listen to those who speak for Mother Earth,
the virus in mankind reflects the sickness of this planet, but all is not lost.
Our ancestors existed in harmony with our rivers, mountains, forests, plants
and animal relatives. The world has benefited from our teachings on medicine,
navigation and agricultural practices until today. The current times can be faced with guidance
from our culture and teachings of the First People. This is the true riches
that had sustained Abya Yala (The Americas).
In
our connection to Atabeira (Mother Earth) there will we find the solution to
the problems the world faces today.
