Yucahu Kachi Areito: Guidance for the Year of Blessings
This guidance arrives during the time of the Wahil Karaya Kati (the Grouper New Moon). The Wahil teaches us that we already possess the gifts and abilities necessary for life’s journeys; it reminds us to provide for the next generation. This fish is named the Grouper because of its breeding method: large groups give birth en masse during the full moons between December and January.
This coincides with the Yucahu Kachi Areito and the start of the dry season. From the shortest day of the year, daylight and energy grow until day and night are equal, eventually reaching the longest day of the year on the Summer Solstice.
The Guidance Received
The ancestors have cleared a path from their celestial cave at the mountain top in the east. This path, forged through strong winds and water, allows them the freedom to send us blessings—some large and some small—hurled toward us with unheard-of speed.
Be prepared: If we are not ready to receive these blessings, they may be perceived as obstacles or feel like "too much" to hold within our own spaces. 2026 begins the process of receiving, but it comes with specific tests:
For Healers: Those who seek to heal may experience moments of illness so they may share the wisdom of recovery, the plants to use, and where to find them.
For the Kind: Those who seek kindness may encounter people who treat them with disdain, providing opportunities to manifest the guidance and abundance of the Great Spirit.
For the Creative: Those with the gift of adaptability may find themselves in spaces requiring ingenuity. As old systems break and foreign forces enter our spaces, those who have taken titles must now prove themselves.
For Peacekeepers: If you call yourself a peacekeeper, battles will be created for you to bring peace.
Be mindful: Because the path to the ancestors is clear, be careful what you ask for; your words echo in the celestial cave. Use your gifts, give back to Atabey, and clear your internal and external spaces.
Interpretation: Global Shift & The Joseph Principle
The freedom the ancestors speak of is global, not exclusive to Yamayeka (Jamaica). The winds of the Huracan have been stirring the entire globe. In 2025, disasters affected over 38.1 million people across 72 countries. These are the results of waves created by those seeking to maintain systems of dominance that are not based on natural law.
The old systems are weak and power is shifting. These are the "ripples" mentioned in the 2025 reading that will last for the next four years. Old rituals intended to hold nations down have been washed away by water and buried by earthquakes.
The Need for Discernment Be patient and discerning with your requests of the Creator. Do your best to remain in balance, as natural laws and energies will be amplified. Consider the story of Joseph and his multicolored coat: he had a vision of seven years of abundance and seven years of famine. His connection to the Creator allowed him to rise to a position of great power in Egypt.
Likewise, we must use discipline to put action to our words and desires. Show dedication and faith in your chosen path, and trust the process.
The Strength of Community The ancestors emphasized community for a reason: you may not be prepared to house the "boulder" and all its blessings on your own.
Find others of like mind to share the weight and the bounty.
Create a legacy for your descendants.
Store and sustain the blessings to come, using them to propel your purpose as part of the bigger picture of life.
The spirits shared imagery of boulders rolling toward us. Many will be intimidated and run, but if you trust your power and the old ways, you will be anchored for the rapid transformation ahead.
