Mother moon

Great Mother Moon

Mamaquilla (Mama Quilla, Mama-Quilla or Kilya) was the Inca Pre-Columbian, South American mother moon goddess.  It was Mamaquilla who helped to regulate time and the Inca festival calendar.

Atabey                                                                              Karaya (moon form of Atabey)
The major Taíno gods are Yúcahu and Atabey. Yúcahu,[29] which means spirit of cassava, was the god of cassava – the Taínos' main crop – and the sea. Atabey,[30] mother of Yúcahu, was the goddess of the moon, fresh waters and fertility.

Through connecting with her energy I have been led to share some insights on the phases of the moon and its effects :

Moon Phase
Cycle in Nature  Energy of Phase
New Moon :  Seed : Beginnings (Using the energy of that month plant the seeds of your intentions )

Here is some additional guidance to harness Bibi Karaya (mother Moon) energy with manifesting your desires.
Waxing - (New-Full) Time to set intentions towards gain, increase, bringing towards yourself.
Waning - (Full-New) Decrease, removing from self, sending away energy that does not serve.

Bibi Karaya,
Mirror of the nights sky,
teach us your ways,
move upon the waters of our life,
show us to find peace in the ebb and flow,
to influence the currents around us,
Mother moon,
show us the light amidst the darkness ,
As you reflect the light from the Sun,
Teach us too to reflect the Life of the Luminous One,
Teach us the signs that we may follow,
growing closer and closer towards our hearts desire.
Confident in your nightly visits watching over this planet
as we slumber.

New Moon In Pisces Solar Eclipse

March 8th New Moon in Pisces / Solar Eclipse

From Molly's Astrology.com
The New Moon is the beginning of the waxing phase of the Lunar cycle, or the two weeks when the Moon increases in light. We can use the energy of the increasing light of the Moon to plant seeds, both literally and figuratively. We start new projects, buy new things, make new contacts. Things we start in the world outside during this time tend to grow. Farmers use this time to plant above-ground crops.
Solar eclipse is a very special New Moon. Things that are begun between the eclipse and the next Full Moon (about 2 weeks), seeds we plant, projects we undertake, contacts we make, and intentions we set, take on added significance 6 months down the road.

With the New Moon being in Pisces, this may also represent a sensitive period to the spiritual world. According to Stars Like You:

When the Moon is found in Pisces, your emotions are likely to be pronounced. Pisces is the final sign of The Zodiac, and has much to do with sensitivity – to oneself, to other people, and to the mysterious, unseen forces that shape our world. With the Moon in Pisces, you are likely to be strongly influenced by the compassionate, creative, imaginative, romantic and idealistic aspects of life.

On an instinctive level, you may have a natural affinity with the abstract or intuitive. This affinity can be a blessing, or a curse. The quality of your journey will have much to do with how prepared you are to recognize these sensitivities, and give them the respect that they deserve. You are likely to be able to sense the hidden or energetic levels of life, soaking up atmospheres as if you were a sponge. Your feelings about people and situations are likely to be immediate, accurate and intense. Understanding that your feelings provide valuable information, but can lead you astray sometimes, means that you will need to learn to recognize the difference between an intuitive response to something, and an emotional reaction that is based on your opinion of whatever is going on.

There is also good news, however, according to Crystal B. Astrology, this is a SUPER-super charged New Moon - so follow the emotions as the blessing, not the curse. Focus on what you want...if you ask, you shall receive. However, if you simply just wait/wonder/lament about the things you don't have, the cycle will continue, and more of what you don't want will come to fruition.

I have received guidance to utilize the energy from this grand celestial event to not only attract what we desire using the new moon energy, to not only supercharge intentions for our family towards balance using the Solar eclipse but to also re-inform the universe of balance and abundance for all utilizing the energy of the spring equinox.

Special New Moon / Solar Eclipse  Ceremony

1OPEN SACRED SPACE you can use a prayer or simply set your intentions asking for your higher self/ creator to enter your space and allow all that will be done to work towards the benefit of yourself firstly and all around you

2.ITEMS REQUIRED Pen, paper , candle , small container with water.

3MEDITATION  With eyes closed, visualise the celestial events taking place at this point in time, visualise the moon (divine feminine) passing between the Sun (divine masculine) and the earth. Ask of grandmother Moon and the Sun to fill you with there wisdom and energy during this special celestial moment.

Spend atleast 4minutes connecting and downloading these energies.

4. INTENTIONS
Write on the paper the things you would like manifested in your life, it works to categorize your lists into Health,Power,Love,Abundance.

5. PRACTICE
Light the candle and place the container of water between your list and the candle.
Repeat to yourself or aloud "As above so below , As above so below, may the energy of the moon be anchored to my water, the earth to my desires, the sun to the candle.
As spring approaches and the divine elements bring new life and rebirth to the earth, may this energy be anchored to my list of desires. Repeat once more placing hands over your list "As above so below, As above so below, As above so below".
Now take the sheet of paper and place before your heart take a deep inhale and on your exhale place the paper over the candle flame paying attention to collect the ashes.
Place the ashes on the earth outdoors and pour the water from your container over it.
This practice is symbolic of offering your intentions and desires to the divine masculine and divine feminine symbols of this universe.
With that repeat 3 times "It is done".

6.GRATITUDE
Thank the celestial energies for the opportunity to partake in this ceremony, and the awareness of its relevance, visualise how this energy from the moon and sun affects seeds so they may grow and blossom, giving thanks for the wonderful laws of nature which we have connected with.

7. CLOSE SACRED SPACE  thanking the energy you called forward and asking that your desires are manifested for your benefit and for the benefit of all you meet.

If you receive any insights, sounds, smells, visions during this day make a note no matter how strange it may seem (you can always contact me for symbolic interpretation).

Energy is present 2 days before and 2 days after New moon so you have time to practice.

Be as thou art - Munay Ki

Who are you...
Do you even know who and what you are not ?
Where do you end and everything else begins ?
Why does the actions and thoughts of others affect you ?
WHO ARE YOU..

Being born in Jamaica a nation who's motto is "Out of Many one People" or atleast the current motto as previously the motto was INDUS UNTERQUE SERVIET VNI is the Latin translation for "The two Indians will serve as one", or rather "Both Indies will serve Together", in reference to the collective servitude of the Taino and Arawak Indians to the colonizers.
OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE - what is it that makes us ONE PEOPLE..
Were we ever one before ?
Were we ever really separated ?

Most jamaicans have mixed families, we were taught that all the taino / arawkas died but we learned this was not so, many escaped to the hills and the african slaves that escaped met with the true natives of the land.

In jamaica today the slaves that escaped are called maroons and there descendants the rest are simply jamaicans, but they are all jamaicans.
All slaves once freed were marooned on this island with no way to return to there roots, so all african jamaicans are maroons....

What of the true natives of this land that we inherited sacred sites from, the maroons may have had there own view of caves and sacred sites but they were well established spiritual sites for centuries before there arrival.

Inheritance - Inheritance is the practice of passing on propertytitlesdebtsrights and obligations upon the death of an individual. It has long played an important role in human societies. The rules of inheritance differ between societies and have changed over time.--

We inherited this land from the natives, and with it there connection to the earth.

I always wondered where this deep connection to native practices came from within me,  when I visited accompong and meditated in the forest a clear vision came to me of the land defeating the british, of the land fighting against the enemies of the maroons and choosing them as protectors of sacred spaces and sites.
The maroons inherited the blessings of this island and the ancestors that lived here from the Taino, and as an earthkeeper i inherited this calling of protecting mother earth and the wisdom she holds.

Munay-KI is a set of initation rites from the Qero shaman of peru.
The word “Munay-Ki” (moon-eye-key) simultaneously means “I love you” and “Be as thou art.”  This is a beautiful reminder that love arises from what is most authentic within us.  All of Creation wishes us to be who we were born to be.

Indigenous is who I truly am.
